Recognizing the Celebration of National Children's Month

 Pursuant to Republic Act No. 10661, the National Children’s Month (NCM) or also known as the “Buwan ng mga Bata” in the Philippines is annually celebrated every November to commemorate the adoption of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) on 20 November 1989. It seeks to instill its significance in the Filipino consciousness and to sustain the promotion and protection of children’s right. National Children’s Month offers a special opportunity to show appreciation for, celebrate, and meet the needs of children, especially those who are trapped in a cycle of poverty. Whether advocating for the government, helping out with a children’s charity or volunteering locally, there are plenty of opportunities for making a difference on this day and all throughout the year!

Acknowledging this celebration is a way of supporting children's well-being. National Children's Month is a significant observance that emphasizes the rights, well-being, and development of children. It serves as a reminder to promote their protection, education, and overall welfare. Recognizing and celebrating National Children's Month can contribute to raising awareness about the challenges children face and fostering a society that prioritizes their needs. National Children’s Month aims to assist kids who have faced abuse, poverty, natural disasters, and violence. It’s heartbreaking that, back in 2013, many children suffered from sexual abuse and exploitation. But we’re working to change that. 

It’s a time when we all come together to make a positive change for our children. So, let’s mark National Children’s Month with big hearts and strong support for our little ones. Each child deserves a future that’s full of joy and sunshine, and when we come together, we can turn that into reality! Celebrating National Children’s Month is about creating memorable experiences for Filipino children, empowering them, and promoting their rights.
