Tara na Fiesta na! Viva Vigan! Longganisa Festival!

The annual Vigan City Fiesta, observed on January 25, commemorates the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle, Vigan City's patron saint. Formerly known as Saul, a fervent persecutor of Christians, St. Paul's life transformed after a profound encounter with Jesus on his way to Damascus. The Metropolitan Cathedral, the core of the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia in Vigan, is dedicated to St. Paul, as is the adjacent St. Paul College of Ilocos Sur.

The festivities, lasting several days, include the celebration of Vigan's cityhood anniversary on January 27. Biguenos, both local and those returning from various parts of the world, unite to partake in cultural shows, parades, and street dancing organized by the local government, industries, and communities. The event features food fairs, arts exhibits, and a visiting carnival.

The fiesta in Vigan City was done the best of best. It was a blast, a lot of activities and parades to enjoy. Tha Grand Parade was done successfully with all of the following who join, official workers at the city, business man's and business women's, the marching bands also they're the one who perform during the parade. The parade will not be a blast if there are no candies nor foods that the joiners of the parade will throw to the viewers. I joined also the parade so it was hard for me
to capture short clips and pictures, but i have my ways because the Isnhs marching band are the 7th who will lead the parade first and we are the one who is early to complete the parade, after that I capture what I can during the parade.

Before the parade there were also a lot of activities such as competition of different contingent on what contingent is the best dancers which is entitled street dancing competition, and I'm one of the member in one contingent surprisingly we won the third place and I think that's not bad for a first timer during the street dancing competition. Marching bands in secondary levels are in a competition too, Vigan East, Vigan West and Isnhs are the contingents and we won the title of Marching band champion. There is also a search for the Mr. World, a lot of floats were also in parade and dog competition was done too.

Neighboring provinces contribute participants to compete in games, especially the street dancing competition, making the Vigan City Fiesta a national event attended by officials from various regions. Concurrently, the Longganisa Festival is celebrated within the Fiesta days.
