 The name of the festival in the past is Kannawidan which means "tawid" or in translation is the tradition, culture and legacy. It establishes the lives of our ancestors in our province during the spanish times. But when Gov. Jerry Singson had elected he renames the Kannawidan Festival into Ilocos Sur Festival.  As the celebration of the Ilocos Sur Festival in the previous years the name only changed but the celebrations and activities never changed. The pasabog that I want during the festival is when they are inviting our idols who will came from their own province travel just to perform. It is so called concert or the term Illumina Festival, it's the concert for those famous singer and many ilocano's will travel from the different places in ilocos just to watch them perform.
